Fußball Crazy
That is what we are and all of Germany is Fußball crazy. Everywhere you look you see something to do with EuroCup 2012. Cars are decorated with flags and stickers. People have face stickers of the German flag & are wearing T-shirts or a German jersey. Our family has been watching soccer via a livestream on the Internet for the whole series. It has been fun! For a while our loyalties were divided but then Netherlands was eliminated and now we stand firm behind Germany.

| Our grocery store has been handing out cards. The front is a picture of the player and the backside gives all the stats . I've gotten to know the players quite well b/c Gabe loves to have the stats read to him :) |

| This is Berlin - an 8 lane road in the center of Berlin has been shut down and set up for the EuroCup. All along the side booths were set up selling food & beer. Huge movie theater size screens display the games ever couple thousand feet. There is a big screen right behind me and in the distance that is another screen. German did not play while we were in Berlin so we didn't see the crowds. |

German plays tonight in the semifinals and the town feels a bit crazy already. Chairs set out, big screen TV's, & sidewalk chalk announcing wear the party is. We'll be watching - the game starts at 8:45 - and yes the kids will be going to bed late! Although with all the cheering and cars honking they would not be able to sleep until the end anyway. Too bad Dan is away at a conference - watching the last couple of games hasn't been quite the same without him here :(

LOVE the setup for watching both games! How fun! It is pretty exciting that you get to be right in the thick of things there! Tell Dan to hurry home :)
