Luxembourg City, Day 3

Wow, the old city of Luxembourg City was very pretty. After 2 days of spitting rain the sun shining was a welcome relief. The visit to Luxembourg was a change in plans for us when we found out the weather report for the Netherlands called for rain (we were set to visit an outdoor museum). One of the big attractions in Luxembourg City is the casements. Perfect we thought, underground, unguided and inexpensive - unguided being a highlight for the kids. We have found out that they don't really care to stand around listening to a tour guide and walking slowly and behaving at all times b/c other adults do not want their tour ruined. Thankfully we have not learned this the hard way :) Gabe's a trooper when he needs to be. So...our unplanned trip turned out perfect.

We also love cars with GPS. It saves us from many, many, stressful drives.

This is the view from up top. The picture does not do justice to how pretty it really was.

We are not sure how old this cannon was but the boys enjoyed seeing it, along with many others.

The whole tour was around 1 hour of walking. We had some great views, steep steps, and low ceilings. Micah really enjoyed reading the history on the self guided pamphlet and figuring out from the map which room we were in.

Different vantage points and, of course, I was being shot at.

"Luxem" helped Gabe through the day.

After visiting the casements, lunch, & buying gifts we took a walk along the river. No one was quite ready to get into the car for the 3 hour drive to Bruges on such a nice day.

Luxembourg is "known" for their pastries, so we took a few on our walk. Yes, they were good.

Goodbye Luxembourg City....Hello Bruges
