Today is Sophia's birthday. It's really hard to believe that she is 9 already. The birthday person at our house gets to chose their meals, so Sophia started her morning with Mini Wheats. She then left for school, along with a treat to share with her class (Grandma's brownies). Sophia's regular teacher was gone today so the class did not sing to her :( For lunch Sophia picked pizza English muffins & watermelon. Her afternoon was pretty low key. Right before dinner we decided to check out the LOUD cheering we had been hearing all afternoon from the University Sports Complex. Soccer tournaments for the university's 275th anniversary were being held! It was a huge crowd and the kids really like watching all of the festivities. Sophia's dinner menu included chicken cordon-bleu, corn, German potato pancakes, & Jerusalem rolls. She opted to have lemon bars for dessert instead of cake because we did not bring the cake decorating tools along. I guess a cake not decorated is not worth having. Dan promised to make one when we get home. We then opened presents & she got to hear an hour of Harry Potter - a perfect end to the day.
